When buyers investigate semiconductor, electronics and advanced-manufacturing suppliers, how do AI answers reconcile technical English terminology with Traditional Chinese first-party evidence—and can they preserve specification-level fidelity across multi-tier supply relationships?
Why Taiwan is a technical evidence stress test
Taiwan sits at the centre of global supply chains where the most authoritative evidence rarely resembles a consumer-friendly blog post. Specifications live in PDF datasheets, investor conference transcripts, equipment brochures and technical portals; corporate groups span foundry, OSAT, equipment, materials and design services with naming conventions that English-only readers easily misread.
Buyers often query in Traditional Chinese with embedded English acronyms (node sizes, interface standards, process names). Answers must bridge languages without blurring precision—collapsing distinct product families, confusing contract manufacturer with brand owner, or citing secondary listicles where a first-party specification exists.
Distinct observation problems
Specification drift
Marketing summaries may generalise capabilities that datasheets qualify or restrict to specific process nodes.
Role collapse
Manufacturer, fab, OSAT, distributor and group holding company roles are distinct; answers may assign credit or risk to the wrong layer.
Secondary source dominance
Aggregators and trade press may outrank PDFs or investor evidence in retrieval even when less precise.
Time-sensitive claims
Capacity, ramp schedules and certification statements expire quickly; undated synthesis is a material accuracy risk.

- Capability verification requiring specification-level source support—not category-level mentions

- Traditional Chinese queries embedding English technical nouns and acronyms common in buyer research

Coding emphasis
The workstream will code evidence chains and uncertainty explicitly. A citation to a reputable trade article that paraphrases a specification is coded differently from a first-party PDF that states the parameter. Reviewers record whether the answer introduces precision not present in any cited source—a common failure mode in technical categories.
What we will not infer
We will not infer confidential supplier relationships, undisclosed capacity or geopolitical risk scores from answer-system mentions. Observations describe interface behaviour and source selection, not ground truth about fab utilisation or customer mix.
Enterprise implications
Suppliers should treat technical portals, dated specification libraries and clear entity relationship pages as first-class evidence—not SEO accessories. Governance teams validating AI representations should prioritise claim registers tied to document version IDs, not reactive editing of summary pages alone.
